Grants for the Promotion of Welsh (Main Grants Scheme) - 2011/12 Round Launched

Offering financial support to promote and facilitate the use of the Welsh language, this programme funds projects that have as their aim, realising one of the following objectives:

  • Increasing the number of people who are able to speak Welsh.
  • Providing opportunities to use the language.
  • Changing habits of language use and encouraging people to take advantage of the opportunities provided.
  • Strengthening Welsh as a community language.

Grants are offered on a discretionary basis and will meet up to 70% of project costs.

Eligible applicants include private sector businesses, voluntary groups and public sector organisations.

The 2011/12 bidding round has recently opened. Applications must be received by 2 September 2010.
