Making Assets Work, Thursday 15 July 2010 9.30am – 4pm, Llanrwst

15 Jun 2010

"Developing a rural asset means you need lots of hands to juggle with, tireless support, wishful access to never ending income and wear more hats than a milliner! We need to share the knowledge we already have, support each other, promote best practice, and make our assets work!"

Karen Owen, Glasdir, Conwy Rural Development Centre

This one-day training course takes a broad approach to asset development, recognising that organisations may have assets that are visible, like buildings or land, or invisible, such as skills and expertise. The course is intended for those wishing to gain an insight into asset based development and how it can assist their organisation to become financially sustainable.

Some of the Areas include:

  • Asset based development
  • Managing and maintaining an asset

  • Asset transfer: policy context and BIG’s Community Asset Transfer fund
  • Sources of support
