Tendering opportunities

Delivering services under contract or tendering is an increasingly important source of income for third sector organisations and there are a variety of European and public sector funded tender opportunities available.

These tender opportunities, along with many others, are advertised on the Sell2Wales website provided by the Welsh Assembly Government. By registering with Sell2Wales, organisations will receive automatic alerts of suitable opportunities, and can also request a free Guide to Tendering for public sector contracts. Alternatively, the Office of the European Union (OJEU) publishes all public sector contracts over a specified EU threshold.

Finding information about available contracts and being invited to tender also requires networking and building relationships locally. The county voluntary councils (CVCs) provide detailed information on key partnerships, committees and strategic forum in their local area. For details of your local CVC please visit getting help.

Opportunities for contracting are not only available through public sector agencies such as the local authority or local health board. They also exist with private businesses or indeed other third sector organisations. Advertisements from all types of purchasing agency can be found in national, regional or local newspapers or trade journals relating to particular service areas.

Further advice or information on delivering public services under contract is also available.
