About the funder
The People’s Postcode Trust is the grant giving independent charitable trust of People’s Postcode Lottery. The Trust distributes funds to small organisations, community groups and registered charities. All funding decisions are made by an independent board of Trustees. Funding is awarded to projects with one or more of the following aims:
- To prevent poverty
- To promote, maintain, improve and advance health
- To advance citizenship or community development
- To advance public participation in sport
- To promote, improve and advance human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation
- To promote and advance environmental protection or improvement
Funding Strands
The People’s Postcode Trust has two grants programmes in Wales. The first is for amounts between £500-£2,000 and the second is for amounts between £2,000 - £5,000.
We accept applications from community groups, charities, not-for-profit organisations and community interest companies, however only registered charities can apply to our over £2,000 grants programme.
What we don’t fund
- Projects and organisations that are not based in or do not bring a direct benefit to Scotland, England or Wales
- General running costs (inc. salaries, rent and admin costs)
- Marketing materials/promotional appeals or website development
- Events such as day trips, residential breaks, conferences, galas/festivals or activity weekends
- Hospices or end of life care
- Statutory bodies or projects that the state has an obligation to provide (inc. Schools/PTAs, councils and local authorities)
- Medical advice, equipment or research
- Building renovations that are for purely cosmetic purposes
