Match funding
The EU will not fund 100 per cent of total project costs; typically it will fund approximately 50 per cent of total project costs and it is the responsibility of the lead organisation to source the remainder either through cash or in-kind match funding. WCVA has developed guidance on sources of funding that are eligible to use as match funding and on using volunteer time as match funding.
For the 2007-2013 Structural Funds programmes, the Welsh Assembly Government has established the Targeted Match Fund (TMF) to provide central match funding to the European Structural Funds programmes 2007-2013.
The TMF will provide capital and revenue funding and is available to organisations from all sectors to support eligible activities under the programmes 2007-2013. Applications for the TMF and the associated Structural Funds will be considered simultaneously. The TMF is a fund of last resort; applicants will therefore be required to show that all possible efforts have been made to secure match funding from other sources before TMF is approached.
